Servings: 20 servings
- 12 ounces white chocolate
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 16 ounces pretzels
- sprinkles for decoration
Melt chocolate and shortening in a microwave safe bowl in 15 to 30 second intervals. Stir between each interval until smooth.
Toss batches of 10-15 pretzels in chocolate mixture, until coated. You may need to re-heat your chocolate if it begins to thicken up. You can also add more shortening if you want a thinner mixture.
Remove pretzels using a fork or tongs and place on a baking tray lined with waxed paper.
Immediately apply sprinkles. Refrigerate 1 hour or until set.
Be careful not to overheat your chocolate in the microwave. It's actually a good idea to remove your chocolate when there are still visible lumps. Things will smooth out as you continue to stir the mixture.
Also note that you will not use all your pretzels in this recipe. I ended up with about 80 coated pretzels and had the rest to much on as a snack. Not that I'm complaining about that!
