Aunt Jemima Waffle Recipe

Who can resist crispy, fluffy, and freshly-made waffles in the morning? This waffle recipe is made using Aunt Jemima’s ready pancake mix for a delicious and easy morning treat that will start your day with a big smile and a full tummy!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pancake mix
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • pancake syrup optional

Instructions

  • Turn the waffle iron on 5-10 minutes in advance to preheat.
  • Combine the pancake mix, milk, egg, and oil in a large bowl. Stir until only a few lumps remain. Let the batter rest for five minutes.
  • Pour your desired amount of batter into a lightly greased waffle iron.
  • Cook until the light indicates that your waffles are done. This will vary based on your style of waffle iron.
  • Remove fromy the waffle iron, and store waffles in a warm 200-degree oven while the others are cooking.

  • Waffle Making Tips: Resist the urge to peek at your waffles while they are cooking. 
  • Storing Cooked Waffles: Keep cooked waffles warm in a 200-degree oven in a single layer. This will also help them stay crispy. 
  • Storage: You can freeze your extra waffles for future use. Reheat them in the toaster or microwave. 
  • Pancake Mix: You can use any brand of pancake mix to make your waffles. You will add oil, milk, and egg to make the batter richer and a little firmer. 
  • Waffle Maker: I like to use my Dash Mini Waffle Maker which makes perfect 4-inch waffles. You can use any type of waffle maker and can scale this recipe up or down. 
  • Aunt Jemima Brand: In 2020, the Aunt Jemima food brand was replaced with Pearl Milling Company. The quintessential red and yellow packaging will remain. To find your favorite Aunt Jemima mix, simply look for the same box with the new name.
