Key ingredients
Let's take a closer look at some of the key ingredients that make this Starbucks drink so delicious:

- Green Tea: Provides a subtle, earthy base that balances the sweetness of the peach juice and the tartness of the lemonade. Good quality green tea with notes of mint, lemongrass, and lemon verbena is essential to making this drink taste like the Starbucks version. A personal favorite is Tazo Zen Green Tea, but feel free to use your preferred brand (or Teavana to match what Starbucks uses).
- Peach Juice: Adds a sweet kick and a fruity aroma that really boosts the overall flavor. For the best flavor, I recommend using 100% pure peach juice in this recipe. You can also use peach/lemonade blends from the store as well!
- Lemonade: Brings in a tangy, refreshing kick that goes perfectly with the other ingredients. Use your favorite store-bought lemonade or make your own.
- Simple Syrup: Lets you control the sweetness, so it's easy to tweak the drink just the way you like it. Not a fan of simple syrup? Use honey, agave, or whichever sweetener you have on hand.
Heather's helpful hints
- Make sure to chill the green tea before mixing with the other ingredients.
- Begin with a little less simple syrup and tweak as needed. It's simpler to add extra sweetness than to fix a drink that's too sweet.
- Feel free to double or triple this recipe if you're serving this tea drink to a crowd.
Is it better to brew green tea in hot or cold water?
It all depends on the type of tea you're using!
With green tea, steep it in hot (not boiling) water for 3-4 minutes before popping it in the fridge. This way, you get the flavors without the bitterness.
If you want to use the cold brew method, keep the tea bags in cold water in the fridge for at least 8 hours overnight. I recommend doing it this way the night before!

Step-by-step instructions
This Starbucks peach green tea lemonade recipe is a breeze to make. Just follow these simple instructions, and you'll have your drink ready in no time!

Step 1
Place two green tea bags in a mug and add hot (not boiling) water. Steep for 3-4 minutes, then remove and squeeze the tea bags. Chill the tea in the fridge for an hour.

Step 2
Once the tea cools, pour it into a pitcher. Add the peach juice and lemonade, then stir well. Add simple syrup gradually until it tastes right. Chill again.

Step 3
Fill your glass halfway with ice, pour in your peach green tea lemonade, and enjoy!
Variations and substitutions
- If you prefer a caffeine-free version, substitute the green tea with a caffeine-free herbal tea.
- Try substituting the peach juice with other fruit juices like mango or apricot for a different flavor profile.
- Add a splash of sparkling water or soda for a fizzy version of this drink.
Make ahead and storage
You can whip up the tea base and mix it with lemonade and peach juice a day ahead. Just pop it in the fridge until you're ready to serve. If there are any leftovers, keep them in a covered pitcher in the fridge for up to 2 days.
Just remember to give it a good stir before serving.
Frequently asked questions
Of course! You can experiment with fruit juices like mango, apple, lychee, or cranberry.
Not necessarily. If you have it, you can use one, but I find that stirring works just fine.
Absolutely! While green tea works best, you can experiment with black tea or herbal tea if you prefer different flavors.
Yes, you can use a sugar substitute instead of simple syrup to make a sugar-free version.
